I Am Defined
Live it Real - A life defined for Christ

Here's the Scoop
We are surrounded in a world where we are flooded every minute of the day and night with negative messages on social media. Young people are struggling against feeling lost, aimless and confused. This is no longer a "virtual reality" but a real reality were building a self-image and the sentiments of worth, love and acceptance are measured by a 'like' or a 'certain number of followers'. I get it. As Christian young people, it's hard. We can no longer hide from the culture of our day but must learn to face it head-on, 'living in the world but not of this world.' It can be rare to find great social media content that stirs our hearts and thoughts back to the Lord, so the aim of this blogging platform is to create a safe space, a hub for teen girls like you, where the truth of God's Word encourages us to "be not overcome of evil but overcome evil with good." (Rom. 12:21)
What about me? I certainly don't have it all together! There are tons of stuff I am still learning and daily struggles I face, but I want to discover God's purpose for me and how to move toward becoming the girl He wants me to be. If you have the same desire - why not learn and explore this awesome, crazy journey together?
What to expect?
A new blog post jammed packed with great content every fortnight released on the website. PLUS, FB and Insta feed posts of inspirational Bible verses on Mondays and motivational quotes on Fridays every week.

My Story
My name is Samantha Gonzalez
I'm perhaps, what you would call your average Christian girl.
I am grateful to say I grew up in a faith-based home, with three fun-lovein' and loud siblings in tow. (FUN-fact - I was home schooled until graduation. No, we didn't do school with our jammies on - at least not everyday! ) I went to church with my family on Sundays, and since a child I believed in God and had a sensitivity to spiritual matters. For the most part trying to stay out of trouble.
Was I saved?
I made a profession of faith at the age of four with my mum. The problem was I didn't remember any of it. As I grew up, without having any recollection of the experience I often doubted if I was really saved.
What was wrong?
Time went by and I finally reached the age kids 'dream off' (or not) - teenage-hood. (Que the ominous music) Yep, I was a teen, and I would like to say I was the epitome of virtue but nope. Sadly, I allowed my thoughts to get me in a place of trouble. My heart had grown cold for God. I lived for a while shrugging away my sin. Though, I felt bad about it, I didn't really possess the ability to stop and that's why I strongly believe I didn't have the Holy Spirit living inside of me. At this moment in time my 'Christian life' - was sadly a lie.
Defining moment of life - that changed my forever!
Then it happened. Sometime during the late thirteen - early fourteen stage, I vividly remember opening my Bible at Romans 6. As some of you might be aware, Rom. 6 doesn't sugar-coat sin. No, it calls it out in your life for what it is. And that's what I needed. The Lord convicted my heart and for the first time I realised I couldn't be indifferent to Jesus anymore. I couldn't say I was a 'Christian' and live like the world. So, with a sincere heart - I surrendered all my life to Jesus. I would now live like He wanted me to. And I would turn away from the sins in my life that were breaking His heart. That was the moment - salvation became real and personal to me! Wanna know how I know? My heart and life were forever changed after.
The struggle was real.
Was everything in my life perfect since then on? No. I enjoyed a close walk and relationship with the Lord soon afterwards but during most of my teenage years, sadly I strayed and wasted so much time in sin and self. BUT the Lord was ever faithful and always reached out for my heart no matter how far I wandered. He met me where I was, healed my wounds and showed me how to live in victory and freedom with Him! He can do the same for you!
My passion.
The Lord has given me a heart-passion to reach out to other young girls who might be experiencing the same life struggles I was and encouraging them with the truths & insights He taught me. I also love to write fiction Novels and tidbits as well as inspirational blogs and devotionals - always with a cup of coffee by my side.
Life Verse.
Simply This - "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." 1 Thess.5:24 - And that's a promise!

The Heart of the matter
Eph1:4
The Heart of the matter
Eph1:4
"For he (God) chose us in him (Christ) before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love."
When we let God define every part of us, we will live a defined life for Christ as we become who He wants us to be - moving with purpose in this world.
